We collaborated with the KITE Autism group based in Enniscorthy. Our aim for this project was to express individual creativity while encouraging connection and bonding through collaborative art.
Each participant in the group was given their own canvas, brushes, paints and a cling film (this was used to create more intricate patterns) to design and paint as they wish. They had full creative freedom to express themselves however they chose, whether through colour, pattern, or shape. The goal is for each person to express their creativity while encouraging their unique personality and emotions through art that feels comfortable and meaningful to them.
Once all of the individual canvases are finished, they then will be assembled side to side to form one large display. Their final piece will stand out from multiple angles to showcase their unique art.
This project is not only about the final art piece, but it’s more about building confidence through the process of encouraging self-expression with art.
We hope that this workshop will inspire positivity and a creative atmosphere for the KITE community. We believe that people have the power to build a connection through art.
